Why surface preparation matters
Sandblasting removes rust, mill scale and surface contaminants before coating or painting is applied. A properly prepared surface gives the coating something to bond to, which is what allows the finished component to hold up in outdoor and industrial environments over the long term. Skipping or rushing this step is one of the most common reasons a coating fails early.

Surface preparation is one step in Linita's full fabrication process. After blasting, components move directly into coating and painting, and where required, through Linita's stress relieving oven for thermal stress relief. Every step happens under one roof, supporting water control gates, hoists and trash rack cleaners.
